This khaki pith helmet style (also known as UK Pith Helmet) is associated with British colonial and foreign service history. It is made from trees grown in the northern part of Vietnam. The material can sustain heavy sunlight as well as rain. When wet the hat may become a bit softer, but then dries to its original state. The Vietnamese learned the art of pith helmet manufacturing a hundred years ago from the French during their occupation.

Due to the handmade nature of the Pith Helmets, please be advised that there may be some minor imperfections in the construction of the hat. These imperfections should not hinder the look or the wear of the helmet.

Hat Details:

  • Shell made of 100% pith
  • Exterior made of 65% cotton, 35% polyester
  • Lining made of 65% cotton, 35% polyester
  • Adjustable cotton sweatband
  • Features decorative chin strap and buckle
  • Crown measures approximately 21.5cm high
  • Brim measures approx. 9cm front and back, 6cm on the sides

Hat Sizing Info:

Small/Medium adjustable cotton sweatband fits heads from 55 cm to 57 cm.

Large/X-Large adjustable cotton sweatband fits heads from 58 cm to 60 cm.

Pith Helmet Bought this pith helmet to walk Hadriens wall with this October. Bought it as we thought legionaires helmets woukd be too corny. An OUTSTANDING decision! They are amazingly lite keep you cool keeps the sun out of your eyes and the rain off your neck. If you want to chat to every single person you meet this is the hat for you AND amazingly practical! My colleague bought from another site but was considerably inferior. Don't buy one if you look like Private Widdle from Carry on up the Khyber tho!

British Pith Helmet Hooray! The revised sizing for us bigheads is a blessing, and the cotton head band very comfortable. My first attempt with the adjustable helmets, a couple of years ago, wasn't a success, because I couldn't get one big enough - thanks for the new version. Top marks, as usual, on delivery and service too.

Superb Product I wanted a "real"pith helmet without spending a fortune, and everything else I found that was not prohibitively expensive looked like it belonged at a halloween party. Not so this hat. The quality is excellent. Extremely pleased.
